At home...Your comment about the screens is so true. At home in the States the screen in our front door just completely snapped. Since we're heading back to France in a couple of weeks, we're doing the very French thing of letting it stay as is. Of course, in our Dijon apartment we don't get the horseflies we can get in the summer at home. And the mosquitoes are deadly here in the Midwest, so I must protect from that.

I so understand your hurry up and slow down description. My husband and I actually refuse to arrive in France on a Sunday because the train won't get us to our place until after the hypermarché that's open only in the morning has closed. Yes, we could go out for lunch and dinner on Sunday, but my husband would have no coffee for Monday morning. That is unbearable.Julie Farrarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08810771028650707072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2289380105853494014.post-8676403024050112652014-05-09T15:00:23.844-04:002014-05-09T15:00:23.844-04:00No way - your Dad is the cutest thing ever! You can only imagine the character(s) that might be hanging around our crazy village. Huge culture shock to come back to the quiet French countryside. And in every way good.
Esp. true: the screens. No one has screens except us, the Americans! But only on our bedroom window, so we can sleep with the window open. Not to keep out the bugs--but the bats! There are a couple who cruise through our courtyard every night, and they like to come right in.Lynn McBridehttp://www.southernfriedfrench.comnoreply@blogger.com
