First there was the imposing chateau of Bourdeilles.
It held a great defensive position on a craggy rock outcrop.
Below was a strong flowing river.

The ramparts looked out over fertile fields and thriving forest woodlands.

Location. Location. Location. This is why we have our small village of Bourdeilles.

That is why we have our small village of Balleure, too. What an amazing chateau this is! I've been to your village (and loved it!), but didn't realize just how imposing and beautiful the chateau was until I saw your photos. And those views! We need to come back to your area for a visit!
